Description

Do you want a lighting fast racing drone kit? Well you've found what you're looking for.

The Hurricane racing drone is whipping up a storm right here in the UK.

This is the kit version, supplied in parts for you to build yourself. Note that we include instructions that will assist you through the build, along with a wiring diagram. These are available to download here. A printed version without all the watermarks will be included with your kit.

All the right parts have been included to make this the perfect racer, without wasting a penny on parts which don't contribute to performance. Weighing in at just 280g (without battery) this kit means business. Every effort has been made to reduce unnecessary weight. Frivolous cables and bullet connectors have been removed. Only items that serve a real purpose made the final cut. The product is a drone which will leave behind the heavy carbon fiber equipment clad drones as it storms around the track.

All the parts you need to get this set up are included. You just need to install your receiver, which is not included. We recommend an FS-i6 transmitter set.

Note this is not a toy.
Our initial tests clock this drone as capable of over 50mph with the basic 3s battery.

Included:
1x Diatone Silver Blade Frame (With PDB, LED strips, Mobius Mount all included)
1x Acro Naze32
4x DYS 1806 2300kv Motors with fittings
4x Emax 12a BLHeli ESC
12x Female 2.5mm connectors
4x 0545 tri-blade props (A of set of 5030 spares are included, but we do recommend using 0545s to get the most from this quad, currently includes 3 sets of diatone 5030 props instead of the 0545's as we don't have any 0545 props in stock at the moment)
1x Turnigy 1500Mah 3s Lipo Battery
1x XT60 16AWG 11cm Wire
1x 25 Cable Ties
1x Naze Brakeout cable (Will be swapped for a servo wire if we know you have a PPM radio)
1x Standoff Pack for FCB
1x Velcro Battery Strap

The Frame:
The drone is based around the Diatone Silver Blade. It has LEDs front and back to help you with orientation. The frame is ultra light, yet tough, built of strong glass fiber composite and aluminium. It has a built in power distribution board, so you can easily upgrade or add components later. Some spare parts are included, and other parts are available.

The Flight Controller:
Unlike most other quadcopter kits, our drone is based on the Full Naze 32. No expense has been spared here. That means you will get the tightest, most controlled flight possible. The board has broad compatibility with almost any receiver on the market. RadioC is the only UK seller offering a fully machine soldered Naze board. Further, we provide the board factory soldered.

The Motors and ESCs:
We have chosen DYS 1806 motors paired with EMax's 12a BLHeli ESCs. These are tried, tested, and proven by countless enthusiasts the world over. They are light, they are fast, they are powerful. What's more they are fully 4s compatible, so when you've mastered 3s, just upgrade your battery and away you go, now even faster.

The Props:
Props can change the flight characteristics of a drone dramatically. With a racing drone, you need handling, response, and speed. That's why we've included 0545 tri blade props, capable of launching your drone like a rocket.

Not included (required to fly):
Transmitter and Receiver
Battery Charger

Everything I needed in the kit, first of two Hurricanes now flying and very happy thank you.  I'll be popping in again in the future and thank you for the time given in offering help and advice in getting me up and running.

I received my Hurricane Mk1 Racing Drone - 250 Kit Quad in good time, and looked forward to putting it together as this is my first quad and i am looking forward to getting into the hobby. However, i received the kit missing the 12 female bullet connectors to allow me to connect my motors to the ESCs,the team were nice enough to send me the missing parts in good time. I look forward to finishing off the build and getting the Quad in the air.

Enjoyable build and fast! July 13, 2015

This is a great little 250 racing kit. The instructions are fairly clear for building and with some additional internet searching you can easily have it up and running in several hours.
I sourced a FrSky Taranis for use with this and it worked perfectly well when I managed to figure out how to get everything connected and paired etc.
I still think there is plenty to learn about the Naze board and the FrSky unit but for my first foray into drones I'm quite impressed.
The chat support provided by the guys as RadioC was brilliant.

great kit May 30, 2015
Reviewer: martgadget from reading, Berkshire United Kingdom
Pretty good kit. took about a day to build up, everything included. Flies nicely, mine weighs 374g with fpv camera , vtx and minimosd. (without battery).
pretty strong frame, only two criticisms:
-some of the threads on the diatone frame posts are questionable, mine is held together with thread-lock.
- in a hard crash the mobius mount at the top rips straight off as it only has plastic posts and tiny screws. easily fixed with some proper bolts.
- the dys be1806 motors are good also, all cw threads though so more threadlock or you will lose your prop nuts like i did 8-)

none of these are dealbreakers, for a low cost kit its really good value i feel.

flying with a dx6i and spektrum ar610 in plane mode. managed to get aux1 / aux2 to switch acro/angle mode and lost model beeper fitted as well.

Complete quadcopter newbie... May 18, 2015

This was my first ever foray into the world of quadcopters, let alone racing drones and I have to say that the kit was absolutely brilliant. I was missing a couple of minor things when it arrived, but a quick live-chat with the guys at RadioC and all was resolved and in the post next-working-day. The drone itself is awesome, massively fast and has already survived a good number of hard landings and bumps. Just remember to get a few spare props!
